As a teacher I will use data collection(surveys) in the classroom by having the students to vote on exactly what they want to do in the class room. For example. I could have how many students want to go to the sandbox ? How many students want to go to the swings ? Then I could collect that information and split the students up in centers at the playground and rotate them. This would be specifically for elementary students. In a 5th grade setting I could have the students to take a survey and also have them to make a bar graph out of the data.
The topics I found most interesting was what other technology skills they will like to learn. Everyone is on different levels when it comes down to technology. So seeing how everyone wants to continue to advance really amazes me. That topic was the most freelance topic there was. It allowed people to be more open minded about technology and give their honest opinions about it as well.
I would like to learn how to graphic design. I know the basic of it but I would really like to get into graphic designing because it's always changing. You can be very creative with it and you could teach other people how to utilize it as well. I will achieve this goal by having my brother teach me. He's a graphic designer and I watch him make flyers and websites all of the time. It's time consuming, but once you learn how it will be quicker to achieve.

I went to my old Middle School page, there wasn't really any class pages on the school website. The information that I did see was more directly toward giving the parents and students information on the staff and on the teams each grade has. There were also different links that you could go to. For instance, the link that states Dress Code. If you click on the link you could see the dress code requirements. The students were in grade levels 6th-8th grade.
I envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibility more efficiently and effectively by keeping the parents aware of what's going on in the classroom. Teachers today only send out letters for their child's parents to read once they get home, but that's not enough. I plan to use technology to send out weekly newsletters to keep the parents aware of what's going on inside the classroom, and what the children should be doing outside of the classroom as well. The more you keep a parent aware, the better the child will perform.
On thing in the classroom that I experienced was the iPad playing the states/capitals game. It was very entertaining and very refreshing. I can use that in the classroom for different centers. This day of age, children love technology and they tend to learn faster while playing a game. Therefore, I could have the classroom set up in centers and have the iPad's available. In each center there will be a different game that goes along with that center that they can play with.

Some Web 2.0 technologies that are useful in the classroom would be Quizlet. Another would also be Twitter or even Youtube. Using these technologies will not only enhance a students abilities but it will also teach them how to use a computer. My little cousins know how to go onto youtube and watch videos of their favorite cartoon characters. Also, being that Twitter is now such a big thing, you can even go on Twitter to see what's going on in our society and what peoples opinions are about every day issues in America.
An interesting tool that I may use when teaching would be Quizlet. Using Quizlet you are able to create flashcard for children to learn just about anything with. You're able to print the flash cards out and hand them to the students to cut and fold themselves. Some things you can include on the flashcard would be spelling words and the definitions, multiplication tables, or even as simple as addition.
Types of student software that I expect to use the most would be PowerPoint. PowerPoint would be used for anything like presentations or even a game. The software that I would use least would be Youtube. In most classrooms, Youtube is blocked, so the teacher nor the student would be able to access the information.
